Better Cooking Oil

For years, we’ve been seeking a delicious, multi-purpose, healthy, environmentally friendly cooking oil.  Finally: Zero Acre Cultured Cooking Oil

Wow, significant sustainability cred

  • 99% less agricultural water than olive oil – no irrigation, all rain-fed.
  • 86% fewer greenhouse gases generated and 90% less land used than growing soybeans for oil.
  • Certified zero deforestation.
  • Made from fermented sugar cane (a perennial grass), no pesticides.
  • Aluminum bottle= perpetually recyclable, light to ship, no breakage.
  • No refrigeration required, but it won’t solidify if you do.
  • Long shelf-life.

Healthy and Yummy:

Zero Acre is “vegan, keto, kosher, Whole30 Approved®, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, allergen-free, pesticide-free, glyphosate-free, non-GMO, and deforestation-free”.   How good is that?!

A bit pricey and only available on-line; we think once demand increases, it’ll be the new standard.

Our friends Laura & Gil Richardson are, in their own words, “imperfect” but they are much further down this Planetarian path than anyone I know. They are a treasure trove of sustainable living inspiration and we’ve asked them to share one simple swap per week that they’ve made (and the products they love) in hopes it might inspire you to make them, too.
