Lentil-Walnut Sloppy Joe Filling

Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium-large onion, cut into small dice
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 recipe Lentil-Walnut Mix Base (see below) (1/2 recipe is about 4 - 4 1/2 cups)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and sauté until translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and 1/4 cup of water; cook until mixture thickens slightly and darkens in color, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in Lentil-Walnut Mix; cook to heat through a couple of minutes longer. Serve.
